After studying Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines, Boy Luna worked as a Creative Director in various advertising agencies in Manila, Manama, Bahrain, and Jakarta, Indonesia. In 1999, he joined Binus International School Jakarta as Head of the Visual Arts and Drama Departments. He started painting in 2000, producing large artworks for school and theatre productions. His works stem from his exploration of tribal and urban street activities in the cities he has visited.
